Site is back up; still no word on why. Amazon was doing some server upgrades earlier, but according to the status page nothing should have been offline… Would be nice to hear an official word from one of the devs!!!!

will the game turns be reset, otherwise some players may boot others if they get on and the time limit is up due to the problems?
Remind me again why I paid for this site when you guys can’t even give a simple update?
matt538 I’m sure the developers are aware of the situation and are working to fix it. xflamex, any time there has been some down time before they have reset all the turn counters so you should be ok there even if you were close to running out of time on a turn. They are normally pretty quick to post on here and keep people up to date on whats happening so I can only assume that they are currently all hands on deck fixing the problem.
Stagolee, I can’t agree with you completely on that one. They have reset turn counters, but not always (I’ve been booted quite a few times because of it.) And I understand Matt’s frustration. When you’re paying for a service, it should work as paid for all the time, and if it’s not, there should be a message about what’s going on immediately. Instead right now we’re kind of left in the wondering, and that’s unsettling.
psetterl, ah I wasn’t aware of the times when they did’nt reset the counters, although I only play 3 day games and mostly just with friends so I havent been on the wrong end of a kick yet. mostly I just noticed when they did reset times because it meant i had to wait another few days before sending my opponents a late reminder :)
I’m not asking for a miracle fix. Just a one liner saying what’s up. The site also used to at least have the splash page that tells you they were working on it.
The fact that they used to be so communicative about updates, and the splash page is gone, makes me wonder if they’ve lost people or are just letting the site decline or something. I work in the industry, I know the signs when sites start to go downhill.
It’s completely standard and expected to get a note as to what’s going on for even a free service that a lot of people use, much less a paid one.
Personally, I think there are some major problems over there that keep them from even putting up a splash page saying that they are working on it. Usually they do reset the counters and usually they do add time onto pro accounts to make up for lost paid-for time when the site is down. At least I would hope so, considering that all these messages should be going to their email.
I appreciate the splash page, so I know the devs know that things are down. But why point us to the blog and then not even bother to put anything there? Please, just a little reassurance would go along way.
The site is back up. We’re sorry for the down time. The the problem that has also caused the site to be unavailable yesterday has finally been found and fixed. We’ll of course add days to all pro accounts. The turn counters have been reset on all fast paced games.
Site seems to be down again. Its roughly 4:45 EST (GMT -5) when the site went down.
Please, at least do your users a favor and let us know if your having difficulties or downtime.
I don’t know about the sight being down, but it sure is slow. Any news on that devs?
