I am happy to announce that Bert and myself have joined the talented EA2D team at the Electronic Arts headquarters in Redwood Shores, California. We have been looking for a strong partner for a while and I think we could not have done any better than this.
This is a significant step for Weewar and for us personally and so it took us a while to sort out all the details (and to be able to finally tell you all about it). We very much appreciate the trust you have put into us over the past years and we are committed to live up to it during the exciting times ahead.
Great things are in store for Weewar – and thanks to EA we have the means to realize them, too!

Awesome! Congratulations!
That’s fantastic news! I’m excited to see what this does for WeeWar, especially if it means mobile apps. :)
Well done!! Congrats guys! :D
wow… that’s pretty aweome.. I hope we don’t lose the “little” game atmosphere … i loved it ^^..
Coolies, hope this means more cool things for Weewar…can’t wait to see things expand!
word
Congratulations!
I hope EA is grateful to have you guys on board – you bring a lot more to the table than they do. They bring the money, you bring the game and community… together, you are unstoppable! This is the end of the “little game” atmosphere, but the beginning of bigger things. You both deserve nothing but success.
Keep up the fantastic work!
Hmmm… EA are the borg of development studios, and they cancel anything thats not making them wads of cash. Good luck, I hope it works out.
This is great news for you two. But truly shows the lack of attention that has been paid to this game since you joined EA nearly a year ago. That information was found and discussed at length on the forums months ago. I applaud your efforts to move this game to a corporation with such significant resources to back it up, but the strength of the game WAS in the rapid response and communication from your team to the community. I hope you can rediscover that focus with the resources you have at hand.
And kudos for hiring Spadequack to join the WW team. A step in the right direction.
Hopefully your contracts state that you won’t work 24 hours a day, EA isn’t exactly known for avoiding 24/7 crunch times.
Um, we’ve known about the EA thing for months, and since that happened Weewar’s been very neglected (minus the great word of Spadequack). How is this great news?
nice :)
I like the EA2D logo.
Oh, sorry I got distracted. Keep up the good work men! As you were.
Weewar not working for me today at all – anyone else?
same for me somar
weewar?
where is my weewar?
On behalf of the Weewar room on FriendFeed, I would like to enquire re. “Great things are in store for Weewar”
What are some of these great things and when will you be telling us more about them?
Thanks Bert and Alex,
Bradley
And we are down…
down (just keeping count…)
;)
seems that the EA2D crew was incorporated in EA´s BIOWARE subdivision recently in august, what does that mean for Weewar? are the daily server crashes/restarts related to that matter somehow?
Bioware seems to be occupied with (less creative I dare say) blockbuster video games and a rather childish player community focusing on abundant graphics and special effects rather than on in depth turn based strategy gaming.
Did EA2D fail EA´s business ambitions like millions of plays for dragon age legends or why the transfer?
What is the (if there is any?) future for Weewar at all? it looks like it is being kept alive for some strange reason like a very sick person in the intensive care unit where doctors won´t tell the relatives a word what´s going on.
a worried weewar fan.
I always emailed this blog post page to all my contacts, for the reason
that if like to read it after that my contacts will
